While we do not engage in direct political action, we do work in partnership with strategic local organizations and activists to affect change for gender equality.

We believe that change results from a mixture of pressure and support. When there is sufficient internal commitment to begin a change process, we are well positioned to support it with process-based tools or intellectual products such as our frameworks on organizational and institutional change.

Our work with civil society organizations to build their capacity for a strong gender equality perspective through personal, strategic and programmatic change often results in increased mobilization and empowerment of women in communities.

We also work with bilateral and multilateral donors to build and apply knowledge of institutional change for gender equality to policy and programming, thereby expanding the space for positive action on gender equality and women’s rights.
