Program Overview

What do we do? Fundamentally, we make change, beginning with the people who work in your organization and the way things get done. The transformation we support within your organization ripples outwards, making your development, social inclusion and gender equality work dramatically more effective.

Here are some specific ways we do that:

Organizational Diagnosis & Strategic Planning

  • Analyze an organization’s culture, policies and leadership using participatory processes to generate ownership and collective energy for change
  • Uncover and examine an organization’s theory of change
  • Uncover cultural norms that inhibit women’s (and other marginalized) voices, participation and power in agenda setting; build value systems that prioritize social inclusion and gender equality
  • Build a vision and path with key stakeholders towards gender equality within an organization’s mission and goals
  • Facilitate practical changes that have a direct, positive impact on the organization and/or the communities it serves

Program Development

  •  Build programs that prioritize women’s empowerment and gender-equality outcomes
  •  Build gender-sensitive analytical tools into program and project planning, implementation and evaluation
  •  Build accountability systems and processes that track gender-equality outcomes

Capacity Building

  • Strengthen women’s voices within organizations and in their program
  • Support leadership capacity for dialogue, conflict management, priority setting and coherence building
  • Facilitate re-energizing and processes to address activist burnout

Evaluation and Learning

  • Build gender-sensitive organizational and program monitoring and evaluation systems and processes
  • Analyze lessons learned from organizational practices and outcomes
  • Facilitate peer learning on gender-biased organizational values, behaviours, practices and programs, as well as facilitate how to change them

Knowledge Building and Management

  • Develop mechanisms and processes to facilitate learning from practice/interventions by organizations and across organizations
  • Develop new intervention theories and methodologies by examining our own practice and other successful change efforts
  • Work with key decision makers in related social justice/development/rights communities to integrate this new knowledge into their analyses, strategies and practice
